Bristol City Council is considering lowering speed limits to 20mph on nearly 100 roads.

Almost 100 roads in Bristol could soon get a 20mph speed limit in a push for safer streets. Bristol City Council is planning to consult the public about lowering the speed limit on a raft of roads in areas across the city, including Bond Street, Temple Gate and Winterstoke Road.

All roads in Bristol with a 30mph speed limit were assessed, road by road.

A six-week public consultation is expected on that technical assessment, where feedback on individual roads can be raised.

The full list being considered are:

  4. Bond Street South
  5. Old Market Street and West Street
  6. Church Road and Lawrence Hill
  7. Wells Road from the Three Lamps junction to Airport Road
  8. Trinity Road
  9. Westbury Road and Falcondale Road South
  10. Winterstoke Road from Ashton Works to Bedminster Down Road
  11. Lamb Street, Lawford Street and Lawfords Gate
  12. Hartcliffe Way and Parson Street
  13. King Georges Road
  14. Wells Road from Whitchurch to Whitecross Avenue
  15. Callington Road
  16. Filton Road and Gloucester Road
  17. Bath Road from West Town Lane to Sandy Park Road
